Cat said she would set up a dinner for us in April at Davis Street Tavern. I was thinking a few courses, $35-45, optional wine pairings...let's see what she can arrange for us!

We should give them business on a slower night, meaning Mon.-Thurs. and not Fri. or Sat. That way we get better service and they fill more seats on a slower night. That doesn't necessarily mean we have to completely rule out Fri. or Sat., but I think that it's better to see if we can do this during the week, if possible. I think starting at 6pm should give everyone a chance to make it there and not lead to a very late night, esp. during the work week.

Who is interested, what night is best for folks that are interested, and is there a particular day that is good for you Cat (since you are arranging it)?

Cat will let us know if there is a maximum number for this event. In the meantime, I will go out on a limb and say that Calabrese and I are a yes for the event.

BTW, here's their website: http://www.davisstreettavern.com

Okay - now that the second hardest part of organizing these events is settled, let's start on the hardest - THE date.

First, Sundays are out b/c they're not open.

My peference would be for a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday with Tuesday or Wednesday having a stronger pull as I always think restaurants aren't at their best after a day off.

That being said - I can not do Monday the 6th, Wednesday the 15th or Monday the 27th.

How does Tuesday the 14th or the 21st work for folks?

And I'll talk to DST about what were looking for, but I'm sure they'll be fine with it.

I definitely want in on this, however, in my heated excitement I need to remember that Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Sunday evenings are generally out for me.

Best regards,

Amanda

Wednesdays are good for me, but I could probably swing a Tues. at 6pm.

April is pretty open for me/us right now, so pick a good date for y'all...

I'll chime in for any Wed.
We appear to have a mid-month thing going on (I know, I am new), so perhaps we should stick with that????

6:30 would work a bit better for me because of where I work and when I get out and traffic and stuff.

I'd love to come. I am not sure the exact date when we will be home yet, but it will be the first week of Arpil. Count us as tentative, if possible.

That being said - I can not do Monday the 6th, Wednesday the 15th or Monday the 27th.

If the 15th is THE date then I'm out. I could do Wednesday the 22...

Wed. the 22nd would be OK with us...

Cat, if you are arranging the dinner, we are certainly not going to make it on a date you can't attend! ;o)

I say let's shoot for the 22nd... My new, ewww, "budget," requires at least one month between affairs and I just spent $50 at Ping despite the fact that Tapalaya is next week... Restaurant junkies need a support group...

Okay, Wednesday the 22nd of April it is and I've now put that on my calendar. I talked to one of the owners last night, and we will be working on a proximation of the menu - but keep in mind that it's over a month away right now. When it gets closer we can discuss what's in season and on their menu at that time. But four courses and $45 or under should be fine.

I'll commit when it gets a little closer and a rough menu comes out. As of now i'm sitting on the fence.
