It's not a blog, but has anyone been reading Tina Brown's new website, The Daily Beast? I love it!

http://www.thedailybeast.com/

It's a links site along with a lot of original content from a slew of good writers. Most infamously, Christopher Buckly was fired/quit from The National Review after his Obama endorsement on the site.

Lots of very good material on a wide varierty of subjects, from politics to art. Check it out!

I just started - because of the Christopher Buckley piece.

I just found this one: http://closetcooking.blogspot.com/
and it's really sweet. Seemingly nerdy, simple, earnest guy who realized he's been eating the same stuff forever, decided he wanted to cook, and so he does. He doesn't say where he gets his recipes and doesn't seem to do much original, but it's fun to track the development of his tastes and some killer photog.

I guess I'm just not the blogging type. I have a hard time remembering to brush my teeth in the morning, let alone keeping up posting. I also prefer two way conversation, I guess - especially playing devil's advocate over beer.

The thing is that there are so many good beer blogs out there. I don't know about you, Twitch, but I can't and don't want to compete. Beervana is one of the best beer blogs I have ever read.

No, I don't want to compete - when I was talking about beer above I meant in-person.

Not so much a blog as a repository for links:

http://www.neatorama.com/

Lots of the usual internet memes, but every so often there's some real treasures, like their Family Tree of Telecommunications Companies

Surprised no one has mentioned Clotilde Dusolier's Chocolate & Zucchini. Fantastic photos and recipes and Clotilde is a great writer. She did a reading at Powell's during her most recent book tour. Plus she's a native Parisian and I always romanticize the food scene there.

Another recent blog suggestion that has become an addiction: Line Cook, written by a current sous chef at NoPa in SF. If you're curious as to how restaurant cooks think and live, this is an excellent place to start.

Ingrid your Hungry Cupboard Blog is also quite good.

I laughed out loud at your entry on Amateur Restaurant Reviews

Congratulations on finishing the Class Room part of your culinary schooling.
