Oregon Food Bank Again?

I feel very strongly that if we are engaging in food as entertainment and recreation (and we are), it would behoove us to remember those who eat only to sustain themselves and often only due to the kindness of others, and give 'em a hand.
So, Nick, you've been the only one to set these up in the past. I'd consider doing it, if you'd give me the contact info and anything else I'd need to know to set it up. I don't have a computer at home, but I might be able to swing it anyway...I'd be willing to try, anyway.
Is it Tues or Thurs nights only? Is that right?
Let's do this people!! It's the right thing to do, and it's a lot of fun anyway.

I was just bumpin' to remind him...and to be a pain in the arse to that crusty-eyed gent... Yo Nick - How's the pink eye, Vanilla Spice?
I'd prefer Tuesdays to Thursdays myself, but I am free every other Thursday. (It is Tues. and Thurs. they do the group volunteer nights, right? I wasn't sure, but I thought that's what they did...)

My company is trying to round folks up to help out at the Food Bank on Saturday, November 6th from 9:00am - 12:00pm. Would anyone else from Portland Food be willing to pitch in to help the hungry? I know it's a Saturday morning and all, but it would be great. I was there a couple Saturdays ago helping set up for their annual Harvest Dinner fundraiser and we transformed that place from warehouse to elegant dining hall.
I think this time it will just be the packing food type work we've done before for the food bank. Kind of fun and very necessary.
What say all? I'll be looking forward to eager responses.

I will try to get on it next week, though, I promise...
Life's been unexpectedly busy, ya know?

If you want I can take the reigns on this and get us a night at the food bank. I know Rodrigo the volunteer coordinator by sight and he knows me by now since I've volunteered there twice in the last couple months. Do we want to do it Thursday after next? How does that sound? I can give them a call and see if that would work, or if others have another night that would work better for them, let me know. Or, Jill if you'd prefer to lead us that is fine, too!

Jill gave me the go-ahead to check into PortlandFood.org volunteering at the Oregon Food Bank on a regular basis. So....we now have a regular date at the Oregon Food Bank starting in 2005!
It will be the second Thursday of each month from 6:00 - 8:30 pm. I have made a commitment of at least three people each time from our group. If we have more than five willing to come out, I will need to let them know. I thought three was a good conservative number and it should be easy to commit to. And if we have more than that it's even better!
They are very happy to have our help. Here are the dates:
I'm looking forward to this volunteer opportunity! It's a wonderful chance to give back to the community and help folks who may not have the options and luxuries that we are able to indulge in. Thanks, Everyone!
