Yes and yes! I was just using random photos to try to figure out how to post photos. SO excited that I finally figured it out. And it's so simple! Leave it to me to always get stumped on the easy stuff. :-)

That's a cherry clafouti. It's an amazing recipe my Aunt gave me, but all I can remember is that it's from some restaurant in France. And the chef said in the article that you can let the batter sit overnight, no problem. It's wonderful. I can dig up the recipe & PM it to you if you'd like.

The timbale is Stefania's from the vegetable dinner Taste Unique did for pf.org.

OK for small amounts of pics, it's easy to just attach photos and use the site tools to embed. However, for larger amounts like I have from Gary Danko, I chose to use Picasa to host. However when I try to use the insert image widget from the tool bar at the top of the post area above the text box, I get this error message:

You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board.

So how do I get to source images from elsewhere?

If the forum is based on bb code it could be because Picasa will not play with bbcode. You can google search for some workarounds, but when I tried to embed some images on another board using bb code, I was not able to get them to work so I wound up using flickr. Good luck!

Two ways with Picasa:

1) Right-click on the image and select "copy image location" (Firefox) or whatever IE or Chrome use for the same information. Then use that.
2) On the right, click "link to this photo" and two text boxes will be shown. Below those is a checkbox for "image only". Click that. Then the image link will be in the text box for "embed image".

I use method two quite successfully - it's fast and easy...

Thanks I figured out both sides and have it mastered now. Picassa is a bit strange but since I host a number of websites on Google, I figure I should learn how to use it.

Can someone give a quickie refresher on how to post photos from Flickr? When I click "share" and "grab the link", then paste it inside the img tags, I get an error from this site saying that I'm not allowed to use that extension. If I grab the full HTML code, I'm not sure which part of that code to paste inside the img tag. And Flickr doesn't allow right-click-copy. Thanks!

You're probably over thinking it. Click the share button. Go to the HTML/BBCODE tab. Click the BBCode radio button. Copy and paste the contents of the text box here -- not in the img tag but just as is.

Hmmm, I usually copy the link from the size of the pic I want on Flickr (from the options on the left), click on the insert image icon here (the thing that looks like a Polaroid pic) and paste the image URL in the box that comes up...

Jill, technically that's in violation of Flickr's terms of service because it doesn't link back to the photo page.

Me? Never! (can you see my eyes rolling?) Thanks Nick & Jill, those work. And yeah, I over think everything. :-)

Nick,

I tried it on the Broder post I just put up. and it didn't seem do work right.

I'll paste it in below - it gives two links to the photo - what am I doing wrong?

This is the HTML.  You need to use the BBCODE.

Success! I didn't see the button to check off for the BB Code.

Thanks
