Time for a thread on a February dinner. We should probably avoid V-Day on the 14th. My initial choices, mostly restaurants I haven't been or were suggested for Jan:

Alberta Street Oyster Bar
Fenouil
Fratelli
Fife
Sel Gris
Hiroshi
Kenny & Zukes

Did PF ever go to Country Cat? Bastas? Get takeout at Pok Pok and go to someone's house?

I'm totally open, heck, I hear Wine Down on 28th has a new chef...

I'd be willing to head up an event at Dang's in Lake O. Went the other night and had the best Thai meal outside of Pok Pok I've had in a long time. Everything was perfectly prepared and very tasty. Talked to them and they have a private room that fits 25 and they'd be willing to do special off-menu dishes for us.

oh my gosh, Dang's sounds wonderful to me. What an opportunity!

Sylvan, out of your list, Fratelli or K&Zs sounds great to me...

Back in December we discussed doing a group dinner at Vindalho and I'd still love to go there at some point.

Let's do Dang's.

If you'll head it up, Nick, why don't you throw out some dates, and folks can chime in with their availability.

I'd be into Dang's if the time is right (post v-day for me)!

I'd be down with Dang's but part of it would depend on date and time. I'm in the middle of 'month end close' for us accountant types and worked late Friday, most of Saturday and today I worked from 8 AM to 8 PM and never had a chance to even eat lunch.

So going out to dinner while very high on my list will depend on other factors.

If I'm in town on the date picked, I'm in.

Count me in the group of "I'm in if the date works".
Homer: Are you saying you're never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Ham?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Pork chops?
Lisa: Dad, those all come from the same animal.
Homer: Heh heh heh. Ooh, yeah, right, Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.

Okay, what day of the week do people prefer. It has to be a weekday for me.

Mondays and Fridays are good for me too. Monday would be quieter I assume, if they are open.

Edit: they are. Their hours are M-F: 11:30 to 2:30, 5:30 to 9 but, Friday till 10. Sat, Noon to 10, Sunday 5 to 9.

I probably can't do a Friday. Don't know how fresh the fish would be on a Monday, but then again, if they know the menu ahead of time...

And I assume that's okay with everyone -- that I work on a family style menu with them.
