I am planning on hitting Carlyle around 4 PM on the 17th. It's my last day of freedom (er vacation) and I need to celebrate.

For those who want to know what to expect:

So...what time are folks thinking about getting to Carlyle this afternoon/evening? I can get there fairly early, probably 4-ish or perhaps sooner.

I'm looking very forward to this. It has been way too long since I've been there.

Best regards,

Amanda

Carlyle was wonderful, as always! Great company with John, Bob, and Calabrese! It would have been good if more showed up, but I didn't mind a single bit the coziness with those I had the pleasure of being with. Thanks for coming! It was fun and delicious!

Best regards,

Amanda

Thanks, Amanda. It was great fun and the blackberry sidecars are one of my most favorite cocktails in town. Food was great too. And thanks for bringing your letterbox log book. Impressive.

No problem, Calabrese! It was fun. John and I have been letterboxing for about 7 years. It's really a great little activity. You probably already know to get clues on www.letterboxing.org. There are also some letterboxing message boards on Yahoogroups.com one of them is local. I pretty much took a hiatus from letterboxing the past couple years because the boards kind of got too contentious and back-bitey for my liking. It may be different now.

I've placed two letterboxes in the last couple years and actually went letterboxing last weekend at the coast. Your PM renewed my interest! It's a fun sport that takes you places you may not necessarily discover on your own. There are frequently gatherings for people involved to meet, greet and go out letterboxing, as well.

I enjoyed Carlyle last night. I didn't like the duck fat thing, though, whatever that was. Seemed too greasy. Everything else was good, though. I loved the goat cheese balls and beets! Your dessert looked really great, but I just wasn't in the mood for anything ice-creamy after all the tasty "real" food and drink. Thanks for setting this up! Those who didn't show missed a fun happy hour, but we will catch you next time, eh?

Best regards,

Amanda
