Further evidence of the exciting Chinesification of Beaverton. Din Tai Feng can't be far behind. You read it here first. http://majdevelopmen...ment-beaverton/

Was just looking at that location again, they probably would double the # of shoppers if they grabbed the Haggen Tanasbourne location instead, much larger Asian population in Central - North Beaverton than down there. But I would bet the rent down there is way cheaper.  H Mart is doing okay and they're even further SW.

can we talk about how awful the traffic is to get to H Mart?

Great spot, IMO. There's only one worthwhile stop on Hall between 99W and Allen (that would be Bavarian Sausage Deli). There's not a damn thing on this particular stretch but neighborhoods on both sides. You can jump off 217 south and avoid the Washington Square traffic.

I predict it'll do well. Very happy to add it to my Uwajimaya/Tienda San Francisco shopping route.

Still boarded up, parking lot empty on Saturday so there's no work going on over the weekends.  Hmm.

A Facebook reply:  "Thank you for the interest. Unfortunately there is no official date yet at this time. The store is scheduled to open in the latter half of this year, so we are still a while away. Please stay tuned with us for updates as they become available to us. We appreciate your patience. Thank you!"

They've applied for OLCC privileges according to the list of applications from a couple of weeks ago. I'd say things are getting a lot closer.

According to the construction site manager, July.  According to my contact at the Portland Chinese Times, August.  We'll see what happens.

I wouldn't trust the guy on site.. they almost always lie.    I'd be more so on August.
