ONE STAR

I *SAW* Brokeback mountain 3x and this is totally inauthentic.
My combo platter came with a side of beans.
In Brokeback mountain blond gay cowboy told fey eyelashes gay cowboy that he was sick of beans.
Cowboys don't like beans.
Worst. Restaurant. Ever.

the gay cowboy quote will go down in infamy. And I LOVE it!!! I bet he was quoting partner Matt Brown on that one. I can HEAR Matt saying that. While he is reaching out to rub my nipple.

I am hoping that they become Portland's first purveyor of San Antonio style "puffy" tacos...not sure what could be more "gay cowboy" than that :/

From EaterPDX today:

Bunk Sandwiches' Tex-Mex spot Trigger — aka the "gay cowboy" restaurant going underneath the Wonder Ballroom — has announced an opening date. According to co-owner Kurt Huffman, Trigger is set to debut on October 15, and chefs Tommy Habetz and Jimmy Albee (most recently of Lovely's Fifty Fifty and its predecessor Lovely Hula Hands) will offer a preview dinner at downtown's Market on September 29.


Anyone know if Jimmy Albee left Lovely's Fifty-Fifty? Or is he just helping out with this preview dinner?

Whoa! I'm excited for your new venture, Jimmy. I'm also wondering who will take on the not-inconsiderable task of filling your shoes at Lovely's?

Any updates on Trigger? Going to a show Friday at the Wonder, and curious (wondering?) if this is one of my options for pre-show eats and drinks.
