there's a Cemitas truck on your way to Costco at 131st and Sandy.
Has anyone been to this truck?
I drive by once a week on my weekly Tuesday run to Costco--hey they have cheap Maple Syrup and Jarlsberg, don't be hatin'. I've always been curious about the cemita truck, but it's Taco Tuesday, and for me, that's the little place a quarter mile west at Sandy and 115th: Antojitos Mexicanos, so I'm always too full to sate my curiosity. Today, due to this thread, I only enjoyed 2 tacos at Antojitos to save room for a cemita. I tried the cemita de pierna de enchilada (sliced pork leg).
The truck looks very similar to the one Nick posted above, it's a old lunch truck with the blue shades on top, but I don't think it's the same one. Anyway, the cemita was good. Loads of sliced pork in a chili sauce. They added pickled jalepenos as an option. The cheese was not mozzarella, it was a string cheese of sorts, that tasted similar to mozzarella, but it had long strands. It had fresh sliced avocado. Papalo was listed on the menu as an ingredient, but it was absent. When I questioned the young lady about it, she said they ran out. The sandwich is huge, I split it with my wife and was still full.
The truck had 5 other customers come and go while we were there, so I imagine the food turns over. They also have tacos and burritos. The cemita was tasty, but not good enough for me to forgo my tacos at Antojitos. The sign says they are closed Mondays.
Some day I will figure out how to embed these photos.
