EaterPDX is reporting that Christopher Handford and Blake Smith from Davis Street tavern have taken over the Fenouil space at Jamison Square.

will "focus on unique preparations of classic New American cuisine, while emphasizing local farmers and purveyors, using seasonal ingredients, and showcasing comfortable elements of fine dining." (No word yet on the chef involved.)

Opening is slated for May 2012

Still, I hope they do well in a very tough space. I did my best to steer people away from the last tenant (my least favorite restaurant in town for 3 years straight). I'll atone by trying to get people to the new place.
