So, I think this would be a great event for people who love food and experiencing things out of the ordinary... a perfect fit for this crowd. I've been helping out with the organization for several months and can honestly say that it's such an amazing experience. Plus they often get food from area farms. The Blind Cafe truly support the idea of community, self discovery and embracing LOCAL.

I know there are discounts for students and seniors and also for groups of 8 or more. So if you're interested in coming, this is to be a resource for coordinating a group trip (or just to let you know so you can go with a date or friend or whomever)

Here's more info:
Experience a dinner and concert (and benefit) unlike any other.
The Blind Cafe is an award winning community awareness concert and dinner in complete darkness.

All the wait staff are blind and there will be a Q&A with them as well
.

It’s a mind-bending, heart-opening experience where you can explore your other senses, free of visual distractions in a safe, fun and meaningful environment. Discuss issues related to blindness. Listen to a concert by Rosh and One Eye Glass Broken. Share a delicious vegetarian meal prepared to delight your senses by Portland’s own Chef Ivy Entrekin. Bring your friends and come prepared to build new friendships and community on a night you will never forget or SEE!

Where else can you build community, make new friends, advocate for the blind community and explore your own sense of spatial awareness? Don’t miss this fantastic event! A portion of the proceeds from the Portland Blind Cafe will be donated to the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation.
