I'll miss Lardo being so close to home, too, but I wish Rick the best. His food is worthy of a B&M space, and he's sweet and modest, to top it all. I had Lardo's tuna sandwich on Friday and loved every bite!

Lardo is going B&M!

http://www.oregonliv...ng_over_jo.html

Opening early summer in the old Johnny B's spot on SE Hawthorne/12th across from Cartopia and Burgerville...16-20 beers on tap, outdoor seating...

Damn it! On one hand, congrats to Rick for the success he's having and for committing to a location and space where people can expect him to be open at the posted hours. But on the other hand, I'm moving two blocks away from the Good Food Here pod and was looking forward to having him around as a quick and easy option!

I'm being selfish, though. Good for him.

Super excited about this!

Since of the 10 or so times I've been to GFH pod, Lardo has only been open once, it'll be nice to see hours a customer can count on. ;)

More info from EaterPDX: http://pdx.eater.com...nny-b-space.php

According to Gencarelli who is partnering with ChefStable's Kurt Huffman for the project the lease should be made official later today, bringing the popular Lardo out of the Good Food Here pod and into permanent digs, complete with an outdoor patio and expanded menu. "Being out the cart will allow me to offer more sandwiches," Gencarelli tells Eater. "Right now they're in rotation because I can only physically do six or seven at the cart. This will allow me to do all of them, including seasonal specials." (In addition to the popular porchetta sandwich and pork belly banh mi, Gencarelli serves up killer seasonal veggie sandwiches, like a broccoli rabe with peppers.) Expect a menu expansion that also includes "at least one or two soups and a couple of salads," in addition to at least 16 beers available on tap.

I was wondering how he's getting it all done so quickly...ChefStable FTW! ;o)

ANd:

The brick-and-mortar restaurant, however, also marks the end for the Lardo cart.

And:

The Lardo restaurant is shooting for an opening in the first week of June, with tentative hours: 11am-midnight, daily.

Thank you Erin for getting the info that the Oregonian doesn't even ask for! ;o)

FYI, Lardo's OLCC license application was entered 5/23/12...moving and grooving.
