Over on Metblogs, Alex decided to give a week of business meal reviews in haiku:

My favorite:

Quote

Masu
Fancy sushi place
Next time, we eat less tuna
And drink more sake

I added one:

Brazil Grill

All you can eat meat
Just one more piece of sirloin
Must take laxative

Re Alex's: The last line needs to have a little more of a surprise, an "ah-ha!" moment.
5-7-5, contrary to popular conception, is not obligatory. Titles are unusual.

Snobby Portland tastes
Wax poetic on foie gras
Secretly eat Big Macs
Homer, upon seeing an ear of corn at a market: "Interesting...it reminds me of a corndog, only without the dog!"

But they were reviews of restaurants, so he was just naming the restaurant.

This is funny. Two years ago I spent about a week in intensive training at work. I met someone from another part of the company who shared an interest in food. He told me that he thought poetic reviews were something he wanted to explore. The next day I brought him a Haiku review of Sushi Mio which is still in his office. And he then thought a series of reviews accompanied by Haiku reviews would be a great idea. We left it at that. It seems there are a 100 monkeys about.
