So, the Alba event, which is limited in numbers, looks like it will fall at the beginning of the month. There's been talk of doing a winery crawl as we did in the past. I'm certainly willing to rent the van and play designated driver. I think one of the large vans holds 12 normal people, or 9-10 of us. If we got enough people and had another designated driver, we could do even more people. As the weather turns cold, this might be just the thing to warm people up.
Or another idea.

Thank you Nick for getting this on track. And even though I know you already don't drink, thank you also for offering to be designated driver. It's greatly appreciated, at least by me.
I am going to be off the board for the next 2.5 weeks, but please count me as "in" no matter what is decided.

This sounds fun!!! But I need to know a date, as October has adventure and commitment in store for us. I know the 14th is out for sure. Toss out any other dates and we'll see! We both enjoyed the last time we did the winery tour and are all for it again!

Is it going to be on a weekend day? We work every Sat-Sun, but are willing to ask for a day off to swill some pinot. Otherwise, Tues and Wed are great for us.
That might max us out unless we can get a second designated driver.

btw, we should think about a place to eat. I assume that we'll want a bite. I also assume that people would prefer somewhere not too expensive since we'll already be spending money.

I was just thinking the same thing. I guess part of it will depend on which wineries we are visiting and where we'll be. Do we want to bring snacks for lunch and eat dinner somewhere, or do we want to eat lunch somewhere and be home by dinner? Either one works for me. For food I've been interested in Bistro Maison and the tapas place in McMinnville. What are some other options in the area that aren't too expensive?
What's the tapas place in McMinnville? I've been to Maison once and my meal was acceptable, though judging from that meal there are better French bistros in Portland. But it was only one meal and it certainly wasn't bad.
We could always hit Stockpot Broiler on the way back. I hear they do everything the best!
PS: We should try to figure out which wineries, too. Perhaps one or two of the best from last time and then new ones? Not my forte. Here's the last trip:
