#14319 swiss nature brand sold in PDX?

Posted by paczki on 30 May 2006 - 06:39 PM in Shopping, Growing & Foraging

thank you so much for the info - I have not seen it at any of the local better stores but I will ask about special ordering and contact elki.

it is a good salt mix - salt, mustard, rosemary, onion powder, oregano, sage, lovage, parsley and basil and it is bio - if you ever see it and like these things.

Thanks -

Hello - I am looking for a specific product that I usually buy out of the country-

it is
swiss nature brand
organic seasoning salt
in Italian flavour

I have seen Vogel brand here, but not this one - does anyone have any ideas as to where to find it?

thanks.

I don't know of a local source; however, you could try New Seasons, Whole Foods, PastaWorks, or In Good Taste.  One of them may be able to special order it.

I also saw on the Washington State Food and Agriculture Suppliers page that the Elki Corporation carries Swiss Nature Seasoning Salt, so you may be able to get it online.

Good luck.

From what I know, paczki (pronounced poonch-key) are the very rich Polish donuts that are traditionally eaten on Fat Tuesday, which is the day before Ash Wednesday when Lent starts. It also Mardi Gras and even called Paczki Day in the Polish community in Detroit and maybe in Chicago. In New York, another large community, they refer to it as Fat Tuesday.

They have jelly or crème or fruit fillings and are usually glazed or topped with confectioners sugar. They are fried and use up many of the rich ingredients that many give up for Lent. It’s sort of like a good luck indulgence on that day. Other European countries eat them as well.

Hope this helps a bit -

Many thanks for the ideas - I've already tried the Portland Polish Association as well as Edelweiss - I'll now try the others!
